Local Mortgage Assistance for Clark, Champaign & Madison Counties

Neighborhood Housing Partnership- Programs serving Clark and Champaign County include foreclosure counseling and mortgage payment assistance. (937)322-4623
Consumer Credit Counseling- Serves Clark and Champaign Counties, Offers money management workshops, bankruptcy counseling and education, financial/credit counseling, mortgage foreclosure, budgeting classes, homeowner education and counseling, and debt management. Also offers predatory lending information and a mortgage default counseling service. (937)325-2898 or (800)377-2432
Empowering & Strengthening Ohio’s People (ESOP)- Serves Champaign County, ESOP offers FREE foreclosure prevention counseling services and works directly with lenders on homeowner’s behalf to negotiate affordable loan modifications.  (937) 565-4368
Homeport- Serves Madison County, offers an array of services including foreclosure prevention, credit and budget counseling, homebuyer education and home repair & maintenance workshops. (614)221-8889

Emergency Assistance Available

Clark County Emergency Assistance
Salvation Army (322-3434) can help with electric (Ohio Edison only) taking phone calls Mondays at 9:00 am.
Catholic Charities (325-8715) no assistance at this time
St. Vincent De Paul (322-0838) can help with rent, utilities, and other various emergency financial assistance. Taking phone calls Tuesday or Friday at 10:00 am.
HEAP (325-8366) no assistance currently available
PRC through DJFS (327-1700) can help with various emergency financial assistance, you must have an income and children to qualify.
Champaign County Emergency Assistance
Salvation Army (484-4244) currently helping with prescriptions and utilities
Catholic Charities (652-2125) can help with limited emergency assistance, taking phone calls the first wednesday of the month only
Tri-County CAC (652-2246)  DP&L assistance available
PRC through DJFS (484-1500) can help with various emergency financial assistance, you must be working and have children to qualify.
Madison County Emergency Assistance
Community Action (740-852-3511) Utility Assistance, Homeless Assistance, Prescription & Gas Vouchers for medical appointments

Springfield Promise Neighborhood's to host SPRING FLING

Spring Fling 2013
May 18th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 PM at the Licoln Park Community Center. 
Spring Fling is a neighborhood celebration bringing people together with a meal, building community and learning about services available in their community.  If you are interested in providing an information table for your organization, Contact Lacey Davidson at (218)553-0454 or lacey@thinktank-inc.org!

Lead Safe Program

The Lead Safe Program through The City of Springfield is now serving all of Clark County.  The program provides up to $8000 per unit to assist with lead hazard control costs through a no interest, no monthly payment, deferred loan.  After 3 years, 50% of the loan can be forgiven.
Property Eligibility:
  • Must not be palacarded by the Health District, scheduled for demolition, or in foreclosure
  • Must be in habitable, safe, sanitary condition
Owner Eligibility
  • Must have a child under age of 6 in residence
  • Owner must be the deed holder
  • Must be current on mortgae payments
Occupant Eligibility
  • Must be income eligible household
    • 2 person below $34,600
    • 3 person below $38,900
    • 4 person below $43,200
    • 5 person below $46,700
    • add $3450 per each additional person
